After the Slade art school in London, I constructed complex wooden patterns and spheres using invented joints. These developed into big timber urns. I have now returned to carving those cyclopean bowls. With traditional hand tools, no electric or petrol, I convert substantial halved tree trunks into my sculpture vessels. In between the wood-working periods I produced wood-cut prints and paintings. Since 1990 I have lived and worked in France. My work is in the Henry Moore Foundation, the Tate and V&A Libraries, as well as other public and private collections. In 2010, purchase of a sculpture by the Fonds National d'Art Contemporain, Paris.
Après l'école d'art Slade à Londres, j'ai construit des formes complexes en bois avec joints inventés. Celles-ci se sont développées en de grands vaisseaux taillés dans un seul bloc. Maintenant, j'ai repris cette dernière phase, travaillant les billes avec des outils manuels et traditionnels. Avant de retourner à la sculpture, je me suis consacré à la gravure sur bois et la peinture. Jusqu'en 1990 résidence en Angleterre et depuis travaille et vit en France. Acquisitions publiques de mes oeuvres par la Henry Moore Foundation, la Tate et le V&A museum bibliothèques, et autres. En 2010, acquisition d'une sculpture par le Fonds National d'Art Contemporain, Paris. | |||||
